Offered is an RIAA Double Platinum Record Award for Jon Bon Jovi's 1990 LP Blaze of Glory, the defacto soundtrack for the film Young Guns II. Emilio Estevez originally approached Bon Jovi to ask him for permission to include the song "Wanted Dead or Alive" on the soundtrack. Bon Jovi did not feel the song's lyrics were appropriate; however, he was inspired by the project and resolved to write a new song for the film that would be more in keeping with the period and setting. He quickly wrote the song "Blaze of Glory". The LP was released on AUGUST 7, 1990, and it was certified Double Platinum by the RIAA on November 28, 1990, just a few months later. The plaque reads "PRESENTED TO POLYGRAM RECORDS TO COMMEMORATE THE SALE OF MORE THAN2,000,000 COPIES OF THE MERCURY/POLYGRAM RECORDS ALBUM, CASSETTE AND C.D. 'BLAZE OF GLORY/YOUNG GUNS II." The award was given to an industry professional by the band. It measures 17x 23 inches and presents with some minor distresses to the black frame. Excellent to Mint condition.
