Offered is an RIAA Gold Record Award for The Eagles LP Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975), which was released on February 17, 1976, and certified Gold and Platinum just seven days later! It contains a selection of songs from the band's first four albums, which were released from 1972 to 1975. On the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, the album reached number one, where it stayed for five weeks. The album has the distinction of being the first album to receive the RIAA's Platinum certification, which was introduced in 1976 to recognize albums that ship one million copies in the United States. At any given moment in the last few decades and up until recently this is the Highest Selling Album of All Time! The offered "strip-plate" style award was produced in the early 1980's, most-likely in January 1983 in conjunction with the Gold certification of Eagles Greatest Hits Volume 2. The award measures 17 x 21 inches and presents in Near Mint condition, with just a few distresses to the gold frame.
