Offered is a collection of early handwritten lyrics by Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose. The lyrics date from 1985 in the earliest days of the band's existence, and were saved by the band's then-manager Raz Cue. Axl crashed and lived part time with Raz for periods in 1985 when the band was formed in Raz's living room. The lyrics are written on four different pieces of notebook paper and on the back of a Sears Candy Store bag. The lyrics are pure Axl Rose, exploring the themes of nightlife, sex, love, loss and despair with his signature style. One chorus reads "I've seen you use it/I've see you abuse it/All I want is you ta show me how ya use it/and baby, just maybe, you'll like what you see." Another passage reads "I never meant to bring you down/turned my whole world spinning round/so I'll walk down to the corners/to the passing cars & neon lights/find another way to kill the pain/of emptiness inside/and it ain't so hard to fake it." Also included is a "Guns & Roses Guest List" handwritten by Rose. The guest list was most-likely made for Guns & Roses VERY FIRST SHOW on March 26, 1985, an historic event in rock and roll history! Also accompanying are "William Baily" 1984 W-2's, which ended up left at the apartment. One is from Tower Records, where Rose worked during that year. A handwritten postcard to Rose's parents in West Lafayette, Indiana is also presented. The lyric sheets show signs of storage wear. Excellent condition overall.
