1950's Elvis Presley "EP" Monogrammed Glass Pitcher - Used in His Bedroom at Graceland - Given to His Uncle Earl

Offered is an "EP" monogrammed pitcher owned by Elvis Presley and used in his home, Graceland. One evening, Elvis broke the pitcher in his bedroom, and the next day asked his Uncle Earl to clean it up for him. Earl kept the broken pitcher, repaired it and years later sold it to an Elvis fan. Images of the dining room table setting at Graceland show this exact pattern of "EP" monogrammed glassware still in place! Based on the style, the offered pitcher is minimally from the 1960s, and could hail as far back as the late 1950s during the first years Elvis lived at Graceland. The accompanying letter from collector Richard Jones details his meeting with Uncle Earl when they acquired the pitcher. It reads in part:

In August 1992, [my father and i] wanted to meet Elvis' Aunt Nash (Vernon's sister) and Uncel Earl to add their signature to our [Elvis Movie] poster...During our discussion in their home, my father mentioned how he always wanted to add something Elvis owned to our collection. Uncle Earl said he did have something for us...As he gave us this water pitcher with the EP initials engraved, he told us in the exact words below: Elvis came down one afternoon and said, 'Uncle, I knocked over the water pitcher in my room last night, can you clean it up?' When Earl went into Elvis' bedroom he seen the glass water pitcher broken on the floor. He told my father and I  that he didn't want to throw it out as he thought he could fix it because he thought it was too expensive and had the initials engraved in it. Uncle Earl glued the vase back together and stuck it in his shed until we came over that day in 1992. Although it was broken, but glued, we felt that it added even more to it as Elvis broke it himself in his bedroom. 

And Uncle Earl did a heck of job! The pitcher is accompanied by two photos of the 1992 meeting between the fans and Uncle Earl with the pitcher in their hands. Also included are several photos of the Graceland dining rooms setting with the matching glassware. The pitcher stands 10 inches tall and presents in repair Very Good condition.
