The game took place in Truxton, New York on August 8, 1938, between the Truxton Giants and the New York Giants, featuring Mel Ott, Carl Hubbell, Dick Bartell. Prior to his nearly 30 years as manager of the Giants, McGraw was born into poverty in Truxton, New York. He found an escape from his hometown and a bad family situation through baseball, beginning a quick rise through the minor leagues that led him to the Orioles at the age of 18. The 1938 exhibition game was put on by Truxton's "John J. McGraw Memorial Committee" to celbrate their most famous son. The program measures 6 x 9 inches and presents in Near Mint condition.
