This is a truly engaging artifact from one of the legendary sports artists of the postwar era, an original drawing by Murray Olderman portraying the Washington Senators rookie phenom Bob Allison towards the conclusion of Allison’s Rookie-of-the-Year campaign in 1959. In addition to the original artwork, which is signed by Olderman in the traditional fashion, a nice-condition copy of the Sept. 23, 1959 issue of The Sporting News that featured the drawing is neatly housed in a plastic sleeve at the back of the framed piece. The artwork measures 10 1/2 x 14 inches and presents with expected editorial and production wear. Excellent condition.
