Offered is a one sheet movie poster promoting the 1962 film Safe at Home, starring New York Yankee stars Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris. The colorful poster featuring large central images of both players is a mainstay in any advanced collection. After the two sluggers duked it out in the 1961 home run race, ending with Maris breaking Babe Ruth's single season record, the two capitalized on their recent fame by taking a stab at Hollywood. The film concerns a young Florida boy who calims to his little league teammates that he knows Mantle and Maris and can get them to come to the team's banquet. Hilarity ensues with co-stars William Frawley and Yankees Whitey Ford and Ralph Houk. The poster measures 27 x 41 inches, and is framed to an overall size of 29 x 43. Presents with some mild separation at the intersection of the factory folds, minor toning and some edge wear. Excellent to Mint condition.
