Offered is a never before seen or published archive of 22 Kodachrome 35MM color negatives documenting Marilyn Monroe's historic visit to U.S. Army troops in Korea in 1954. In January of that year, Marilyn married Joe DiMaggio. During their February honeymoon in Japan, Marilyn volunteered to perform 10 shows in four days for the troops stationed in Korea. The offered group of photos was taken by an 18-year old Navy medic who was stationed on a medical ship. He and his fellow troops were flown in for one of the concerts, and he documented Marilyn's visit with his camera. While several of the images capture the transport delivering the starlet and the lonely, muddy base surrounded by hills, the majorty feature Marily in her purple cocktail dress. Several of the images are as good as any that have ever surfaced of Marilyn on this short tour. The "Kodachrome Transparency" slide mounts date to 1954--the style changes in 1955---and they are numbered from 1 to 22. The slide film and mounts present almost perfectly preserved in stunning Near Mint condition.
