The illustration, in heavy black acrylic or ink, is signed “J Downs” and inscribed along the bottom edge “Original Art (Chicago Sun-Times).” John Downs was a working artist for 60 years and did stints for The Chicago Daily News and Sun-Times newspapers. He was taught by LeRoy Neiman at The School of the Art Institute. The illustration captures Paul McCartney in either the latest Beatles period or shorlty thereafter in the Wings era. Though it isn't indicated, it appears that Paul may be sitting at the piano, mid-song. The artwork measures 10 ¼ x 14 inches and presents on heavy paper board with little wear. Near Mint condition.
