Offered are two oversized framed photos owned by Elvis Presley's dear friend Janelle McComb. Janelle had given Elvis a number of large and elaborate framed displays of photographs and poetry that were displayed at Graceland during his lifetime. When he passed most of these were returned to Janelle by Vernon Presley, and it's certainly possible these photos made their way to Graceland. Janelle lived in Tupelo, Mississippi, where Elvis was born, and was a life-long friend of the Presley family, having known Elvis since he was a mere child. So close was Janelle McComb to the Presleys that she became the longtime director of the Elvis Presley Memorial Foundation and wrote the poems that appear on Elvis’ epitaph and the Eternal Flame. The back of one of the photos is stamped with an Elvis Presley Memorial Foundation copyright. Janelle wrote a large "On Loan Janelle" on the back of one, as well. One photo is of Elvis on stage on May 31, 1975, in Huntsville, Alabama, and the other is a photo of Elvis with his friend, karate instructor and bodyguard Ed Parker, taken on February 2, 1977, in Montgomery, Alabama. It's possible that Janelle herself took these photos. Both are framed to a size of 24 x 16 inches and present in Near Mint condition.
