The offered black mesh lingerie top was owned by Prince and given to a fan after his concert in Philadelphia on November 22, 1984. The top was made by Italian lingerie designer "Cosabella," which was a somewhat hot new brand at the time, having only started production in 1983. But then Prince was always on the cutting edge. When he performed at the Spectrum in Philly, Prince was touring from November 1984 until April 1985 in support of the Purple Rain album and film, both of which catapulted Prince to a new level of superstardom. The accompanying letter signed by Chris Davidson, President of "Prince: The Collection," reads: "This black lace top was worn by entertainer, Prince during a performance of his 1984 Purple Rain Tour in Philadelphia a the Spectrum. Prince met with the female fan at some point after the show and gave her this black lace top as a memento from the performance. I purchased this black lace top from a long time Prince collector who was fortunate enough to attend dozens of concerts over the years as well as visit Paisley Park on three occasions and meet Prince during those visits." The top is accompanied by at ticket stub from the November 22, 1984, concert at The Spectrum in Philadelphia. The mesh top measures 20 x 13 inches and presents with moderate wear, especially to the bottom of the label, which shows some distress. Even with that small distress the garment is in Near Mint condition"
