The offered t-shirt was owned by Prince and created in conjunction with the production of his music video for the song "My Name is Prince" from his 1992 Love Symbol album. The shirt emanates from the personal collection of Prince's first wife, Mayte Garcia. In the video for the song, Prince wears a tank-top version of this same shirt, which features a "PRINCE/NPG" Minneapolis Police Department badge on the front and a large Love Symbol on the back.

The shirt is accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by Mayte Garcia and by Chris Davidson, President of "Prince: The Collection." The letter states: "This thick gold imprinted black XL t-shirt was made to promote Prince's music video in the early 90s called My Name is Prince. This black t-shirt was created by Prince with gold print in the form a police badge with Minneapolis (MPLS) at the top and Prince and NPG at the bottom. A special gold glitter of Prince's Love Symbol is printed on the back. This black t-shirt was obtained from Prince's first wife, Mayte Garcia." An autographed copy of Garcia's book, The Most Beautiful: My Life with Prince, is included with this lot.

The shirt presents with its original "Fruit of the Loom" "XL" tag intact. Near Mint to Mint condition.
