The offered "Cotton Fruit" brand bath towel has been customized for use in Prince's Los Angeles home with the number "3121." During the period Prince was recording his 2006 album of that name, starting in 2004, he had rented a home at 3121 Antelo Road in Los Angeles. Before he had even formally rented the place, he had begun recording the title song with the lyrics "3121, gonna be so much fun." For whatever reason the number just struck him. The number became synonymous with his get-togethers during this period--he would refer to them as "3121" parties, and he had everything customized with the number including the offered towel. The number symbolized a state of mind that Prince embodied during the period, where friends could join together and be with each other in harmony and fun. Though Prince lived at the 3121 Antelo Road address while recording, it was the home he rented from NBA star Carlos Boozer, at 1235 Sierra Alta Way, that became known as the "3121" house--this is where the number was emblazoned on everything and most of the "3121" parties took place. The towel was taken from this home by a visiting fan. The accompanying letter from Chris Davidson, President of "Prince: The Collection" states:
This plush black towel was taken from Prince's "3121" Beverly Hills residence located at 1235 Sierra Alta Way. Prince rented the Beverly Hills mansion from NBA Chicago Bulls star, Carlos Boozer for approximately $75,000 a month. Prince completely remodeled the mansion in "Prince" colors and style and then put everything back to Carlos Boozer's liking at the end of the lease. This 3121 gold thread embroidered black towel was obtained from a long time Prince collector who was fortunate enough to attend dozens of concerts over the years as well as visit Paisley Park on three occasions and meet Prince on those occasions.
One fortunate collector can now bring a little "3121" spirit into their home. The towel measures 29 x 15 1/2 inches and presents in Near Mint condition.
