Offered is an RIAA Gold Record Award for Led Zeppelin's 1971 LP Led Zeppelin IV. Zeppelin's fourth LP was released on November 8, 1971, and was certified Gold by the RIAA only eight days later. The offered "floater style" award was employed by the RIAA in the late 1970s, and that's when this example was produced. The plaque reads “Presented to LED ZEPPELIN to Commemorate the Sale of More Than 500,000 Copies of the ATLANTIC RECORDS Long-Playing Record Album 'LED ZEPPELIN IV'”. The album was recorded between December 1970 and February 1971, mostly in the country house Headley Grange. The album was Led Zeppelin's best-selling LP, shipping over 37 million copies worldwide. It is one of the best-selling albums in the US, while critics have regularly placed it highly on lists of the greatest albums of all time. The award measures 17 x 21 inches and presents with only minor wear to the gold frame. Near Mint condition.
