Offered is an RIAA Gold Record Award for Elvis Presley's 1969 single “Don’t Cry Daddy. ” The award's plaque reads “Presented to Elvis Presley to commemorate the sale of more than one million copies of the RCA Records single record ‘Don’t Cry Daddy’”. Recorded in January 1969, the single “Don’t Cry Daddy” (with “Rubberneckin” on side B) was originally written by Mac Davis and the 45 was released in 1969, reaching number six in the U.S. and number eight in the U.K. The single was certified gold by RIAA on January 21, 1970. The offered early white linen matte style RIAA award was produced at that time. The framed award measures approximately 17 1/4 by 13 1/8 inches and presents with some mild toning in the white matte areas and scuffing and minor scratches on the wooden frame. Excellent to Mint condition.
