Offered is an RIAA Gold Record Award for Elvis Presley's 1975 LP Pure Gold. While the album was released on March 1, 1975, it was certified Gold by the RIAA on September 12, 1977, in the wake of renewed interest in Elvis' music after his passing. The front cover photo features Elvis from his Aloha from Hawaii concert in January, 1973, but compilation is a hectic assemblage of early and late material, including "In The Ghetto", "Kentucky Rain", "Jailhouse Rock" and "All Shook Up." The award's plaque reads "Presented to Elvis Presley to Commemorate the Sale of More Than 500,000 Copies of the RCA RECORDS Long-Playing Record Album 'Pure Gold.'" The award measures 17 x 21 inches and presents with only minor wear to the gold frame. Near Mint condition.
