Offered is a much lesser-seen 8-track tape version of Elvis Presley's 1970 release Worldwide 50 Gold Award Hits Vol. 1. It includes the original souvenir photo album that came wiht the box set. The LP vinyl versions of this release are fairly easy to come by, but this is the FIRST 8-track copy we have offered.
In 1970, The Colonel wished to capitalize on Elvis’ older material by compiling a four-LP box set release for a special price. This special four-LP set, Worldwide 50 Gold Award Hits Vol. 1, would be released in August 1970 during Elvis' 1970 Las Vegas Summer Festival. The Colonel's marketing efforts during the Summer Festival were structured around the release and branded as "THE BIG 50." This phrase could be seen on satin banners literally all over the Las Vegas International Hotel and even on special gifts like lighters that the Colonel gave out to VIPs.
The box set presents with only minor wear to the edges and corners, and the 8-tracks themsleves present in very clean condition with just some waviness to the labels. Excellent to Mint condition overall.
