The offered RIAA Gold Record Award is for Elvis Presley's 1963 LP Elvis' Golden Records Vol. 3 which included hits from 1960, 1961 and 1962. Five of the inlcuded A-Sides, "Stuck on You", "It's Now or Never", "Are You Lonesome Tonight?", "Surrender", and "Good Luck Charm" went to #1 in the U.S., and several other songs were Top 40 hits. As with the other titles in the series, which culminated in 5 “Golden Records” compilations, all singles on the record are certified by the RIAA as attaining gold status with sales of at least 500,000 copies. The award's plaque reads: “Presented To Elvis Presley to Commemorate the Sale of More Than 500,000 Copies of the RCA Records Long-Playing Record Album 'Elvis' Golden Records, Volume 3.'” The album was certified Gold on November 1, 1966, but the offered award was created in the early to mid 1980s, based on the style. The award measures 17 x 21 inches and presents with only very minor wear to the wooden frame. Near Mint condition.
