Rogers drums were the quality leader in the 60s. The fit and finish of their drums was superb, and the sound was incredible. Such notables as Buddy Rich, Louie Bellson, Ed Shaughnessy, and many others loved the sound. This set is exceedingly rare given that the Pink Strata finish was only offered in 1967. Very few examples exist, and of those that do exist, most are badly faded. The strata wrap was also somewhat brittle, so many examples have significant cracks in the finish. This set has remarkably strong color with the only notable fade being the 9x13 but this fade faces the player. There are very few surface splits and the chrome is excellent. There are some magic marker markings inside the shell from a prior owner, but that is not visible. The set shows beautifully and sounds wonderful. See Steve’s video for a demo. This is an amazingly fine example of one of the rarest Rogers finishes, and the sizes are perfect. Letter of Authenticity from Steve Maxwell will be included.
