Dick Perez Pen and Ink and Pencil Artwork Collection

This auction presents an offering of 12 lots of legendary baseball artist Dick Perez's interesting and intimate pen and ink and pencil artworks. The group may present as a departure from what collectors usually expect to see from Dick's trademark style, so full of color. But these drawings see a quieter, more considered artist at work--searching for an essence, seeking to capture a subject in just the right light and mood. Enjoy this access to a unique group of special artworks from Dick Perez.

Dick Perez portrays Hall of Famer Rube Marquard in his New York Giants prime of the first two decades of the 20th Century. Rube's subtle smirk belies his utter confidence. His career numbers of 201 wins and 1593 strike outs are respectable, but his most enduring stat will be his 19 consecutive wins in 1912. The artwork measures 9 x 12 inches and presents in Near Mint to Mint condition.
