Offered is a October 6, 1869, Presidential Pardon signed by Ulysses S. Grant during his first Presidential term. The 8 x 10 inch light blue document pardons a man by the name of "Smith W. Hall." Also included is a handwritten invitation (in another hand) dated "December 30" (likely 1886) and was sent to "Mr. Sumner" (likely Senator Charles Sumner). The invitation cites "Douglas Row" the location of Grant's home in the years after the Civil War and prior to taking up resdidence in the White House. Also accompanied by a 8 3/4 x 11 3/4 inch portrait. Encapsulated Authentic by Beckett Authentic.
