In 1972, Pierre Adidge and Robert Abel set out on an Elvis Presley 15-city tour of the United States that featured 19 concerts between April 5th and April 19th, 1972, to create the concert film Elvis on Tour. The film recorded some of the most spectacular Elvis Presley live performances of his career and remains the best record of his magic as a live performer. As well as being a financial success, Elvis on Tour proved to also be a critical success by winning the 1972 Golden Globe Award for Best Documentary, making it the only Elvis film to win an award of any kind.
The offered three sheet movie poster promoting the 1972 film is a stunning and massive example of Elvis Presley film promotion. It represents an excellent opportunity to acquire what will become a centerpiece display piece for any collector of fine Elvis artifacts. When assembled, the two sections measure 41 x 81 inches and present with only the smallest little tear to the lower section. The balck border printing, in the extreme upper right, is original and common on these pieces and not damage. Near Mint condition.
