Offered are two massive and ornate bronze wall sconces from Elvis Presley's Beverly Hills home. The sconces were just two of many items from the September 14, 1980, sale held at The Hollywood Palladium by Don B. Smith Auction Co. featuring the "Personal Property Formerly Owned by Elvis & Priscilla Presley /  Their Former Home at 1174 Hillcrest Road, Beverly Hills, California." This famous auction featured everything that was left in the Hillcrest house after Elvis' passing--furniture, art, sculptures, books, beds, typewriters...you name it! The sconces are listed in the catalog-see image at right, and come from the world famous Jimmy Velvet collection. Each sconces measures more than 20 inches in length and weighs more than 25 pounds! All six glass globes are still present, though several have sustained some damage. The sconces could surely be brought back to working condition with proper electical and structural restoration. Please note: Due to size and weight, shipping charges will be higher than most items. These beautiful pieces harken back to a bygone era when over-wrought, heavy and darkly featured household appointments were the hallmarks of style and sophistication. Very Good to Excellent condition.
